Julie Guirguis demonstrating Teaser on the ReformerHealth and fitness have always been an important part of my life. Approximately 7 years ago I started taking Pilates to add variety to my work-outs. I began as a beginner mat student with Michelle Sibilia and have progressed to an advanced reformer student. My core strength has gone from nonexistent to exceptional, and my flexibility and overall strength has increased exponentially. My Pilates training provides me the added ability of tackling the daily physical demands of life with ease. It also amplifies the overall benefits from my other work-outs, such as spinning and strength training. Michelle is a tremendous instructor who is very professional and personable. She tailors each session to meet the changing needs of her clients, whether they have an injury or want to achieve specific results. Pilates, and Michelle, will always be a part of my fitness regimen!

Jen Maglio demonstrates Swan on the Ladder BarrelIn the summer of 2011, I was a lump. I am a working mom of 2 and my kids were getting too old for me to blame my shape on baby weight. I knew I needed help to get fit again — or maybe for the first time! Through a friend, I found Michelle Sibilia and began taking Pilates classes with her. What a difference Pilates has made in my life! My whole body shape has changed for the better – although I could still work harder at avoiding chocolate! I am stronger and so much more confident about my body. I even attempted snow skiing for the first time in 20 years and it was great! Michelle has guided and supported me through this positive change. She encourages me and understands when life and kids get in the way of my workout schedule. I love my workouts and the fact that I have progressed so far. Since there are always new exercises to try, I also love knowing that there is so much more I can achieve. Thanks Michelle!

I have steadily practiced Pilates for 15 years and am also a devoted sports enthusiast and lifetime exerciser. Additionally, I am a chiropractor and someone who struggles with my own chronic back issues. Over the years, I’ve encountered many trainers – personally and professionally – and can think of none I could recommend more highly than Michelle Sibilia. She brings consistent focus, pleasant enthusiasm and remarkable attention to detail to every session. I get as much done with her in one hour as I did with previous Pilates trainers in 1 ½. Michelle’s commitment to excellence in her profession is evident in every minute I’ve spent with her and any level student would be fortunate to work with her.

Steve Appelbaum demonstrates Long Spine Massage on the ReformerI’ve been doing weekly Pilates workouts for the past 15+ years as my travel schedule permits. Michelle Sibilia has been my instructor for the most recent 5 years. Following a week of travel and airport luggage transport, I’ve found nothing better than Pilates to stretch my muscles (lower back in particular) and relieve the soreness and associated discomfort. My major aerobic conditioning is cycling; I can average between 75 – 110 mile/week. The repetitive nature of cycling as well as the resulting overuse or underuse of the same muscle groups causes considerable muscle imbalance. Pilates has consistently been the only workout that helps me regain that balance. Michelle’s focus on technique enables me to work my core muscles to the maximum.

Lauren Sonnen demonstrates Pull-ups on the CadillacI never really knew how hard Pilates was until I started working with Michelle at “Pilates Is A Workout” this January. It has increased my core strength and flexibility which has carried over to my competing in crossfit. The exercises are so paralleled. Pilates will enhance any strength program, allowing you to utilize more core recruitment.

I knew Pilates was the right thing for my body at this time of my life. I am a runner, but I could feel my posture worsening and my stamina waning. Michelle’s training has helped me regain flexibility and helped me tone my body. When she tells you “Pilates Is a Workout”, believe her!
