Pilates Is A Workout

A fully equipped Pilates studio outfitted with top of the line classical apparatus, featuring Pilates Designs by Basil.
Now located at the top of Main Street, our new studio is bright, private and spacious, with plenty of parking.

We are taking every precaution to ensure your safety, and to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Instructors are required to wear face masks, disinfectant is used after each session, and our air purifiers are fitted with HEPA filters and UV lights. We are restricting our capacity to only two Private Sessions at once in the studio.

About Your Instructor

Michelle Sibilia is the owner and instructor at Pilates Is A Workout. She has been teaching classical Pilates in Sarasota since moving here in 2006, and has trained with many renowned instructors for well over a decade. She received her instruction and certification in NYC from Power Pilates, where she apprenticed under internationally recognized Master Instructor, Bob Liekens. Michelle has been a Pilates Method Alliance certified teacher since 2011.

What To Expect

Pilates is, first and foremost, EXERCISE. When classically taught, it is a unique and effective total body workout that honors the original method of Joseph Pilates, utilizing the exercises and apparatuses that he created. A session with Michelle will leave you feeling strong and energized; you will learn to initiate movement from your core, strengthening the deepest muscles, while lengthening and stretching the body as a whole.

How To Begin

Pilates training that fully utilizes various traditional studio apparatus is the authentic approach to learning the method. Private, one-on-one sessions address your individual needs, and build a solid foundation where you will learn the basics and become familiar with the apparatuses. Once this is achieved, clients have the option to move on to semi-private sessions. Additionally, Pilates Mat Class is a great workout which allows you to learn and practice the classical mat exercises at your appropriate level in a small group.
